Enriching lives in more ways than one

At Strategem we believe in enriching lives through better financial decisions. Our accountants and advisors are passionate about providing tailored advice to your financial situation.

However, working with our clients to implement healthy financial strategies is just oneway we aim to enrich lives.

The biggest asset to our company is our people, made up by our employees, our clients and our community. What is a common thread among these? Giving back.

We believe in growing our people and giving them the opportunity to develop their skills in a number of different ways.

The obvious benefits of volunteering are the differences you make to the lives of others. By simply giving someone a cup of tea, providing a listening ear or bringing pleasure to ones day through providing a musical atmosphere, you are making a difference to those around you. But did you know that volunteering also has a number of positive impacts for the volunteer.

  • Connects you with others and creates friendships

  • Brings fun and fulfilment to your life and provides you with a sense of purpose

  • Provide san opportunity to increase your social and relationship skills

  • Increases your self-confidence

Researchers have measured hormones and brain activity and discovered that helping others delivers immense pleasure. When we’re giving to others, we experience higher happiness levels.

“Help others and give something back. I guarantee you will discover that while public service improves the lives and the world around you, its greatest reward is the enrichment and new meaning it will bring your own life.” - Arnold Schwarzenegger

In a workplace sense, the benefits are huge. Research by Elizabeth Stocker, Great Place toWork, found that “when employees are actively involved in giving back it can lead to a deeper commitment and connection to work.”

Other benefits include:

  • Increased opportunities for team building exercises

  • Opportunity to learn new skills outside of the daily expertise required

  • Reduction in sick leave

  • Higher staff morale and happiness

At Strategem, our recently formed relationship with the Bendigo Health Foundation and the Ulumbarra Foundation has opened up an enormous amount of opportunity for our staff and our community.

To be in a position to be able to enrich the lives of people who are requiring the services of our local hospital is something the team at Strategem are extremely proud of.

To be working alongside the Bendigo Health Foundation and the Ulumbarra Foundation on the newly launched Music & Arts Project is an honour. To also be working with Bendigo Health to implement a structured corporate volunteering program is something we are very excited about.

The relationship between the Ulumbarra Foundation, the Bendigo Health Foundation and Strategem may be new, but it is strong and with us all having a common goal in mind of providing support and enriching lives, together we will provide an immense amount of value to our community.
