Here’s your FIRST step to improving your Operations & Processes…

Over the years of growing our own business and helping countless others grow, we’ve developed a process that enables you to focus on the right areas and get the results you are looking for.  Want to know the method we use? It’s the Lean Process. This process outlines a cycle of continuous improvement by following a four steps process; Identify, Plan, Execute and Review. 

  • Review your workflow processes and identify ways they could be improved. This is the time to ask questions and challenge the way things are done. Needs, technology and requirements are continuously changing so it’s important to be constantly thinking about how you can keep up.

  • Take these opportunities you’ve identified and discuss how you can improve them with your team. What do you need for these changes to be implemented? Time? Resources? Communicate with your team to work out the best way to achieve success, talk about the potential hurdles and discuss solutions to overcome these barriers.

  • This is where you implement the changes you have agreed upon. The strategies developed in your planning phase come to life and changes start to occur. Make sure you give yourself sufficient time to execute and celebrate your successes along the way.

  • Working with your team, it is crucial to review the changes that have been introduced. Are they working for the team? Is everyone on board with the new ways of working? Are there some things that may not have worked?

Here’s a basic checklist you can use to commence the
Lean Process:

☐ Review workplace policies and procedures

☐ Book a meeting with your staff or team members to discuss ways for improvement

☐ Identify your barriers and brainstorm possible solutions

☐ Identify key actions, map out your calendar and specify target dates

☐ Book in a weekly meeting with your staff members involved to keep the communication open

☐ Book in a meeting with your staff to review changes after they have been implemented and trialled

Set aside time at least once a month to review all current processes and operations with various team members. By allowing yourself time for regular review, feedback and discussion you can track the efficiency, explore any new areas that could be improved.

Set monthly or weekly appointments in your calendar now. Take the time to sit and review with key members of your team and set an agenda. Include these key items on your agenda.
