Kris Tatt | His Strategem Journey
As a father of four children 6 and under (including twin 4-year-olds) I know just how important it is to make the most of the special moments as they grow up.
Not only being there for my children during their special moments, but also being able to be there to support my wife when she needs me, because we all know parenting isn’t easy.
My journey with Strategem started in 2008 when I joined the firm in an Administration role, covering a maternity leave position. Not long after starting with Strategem, I married my wife, Kathryn, and completed my university studies – achieving my Bachelor of Commerce Degree.
Since graduating and taking on a graduate accounting role within Strategem, I have developed my professional skills through having access to a range of professional training and personal development opportunities. This led to me taking on the role of SMSF Manager before being invited to join the Associate Program, and becoming an Associate of the firm.
Over this time, I have also seen my family grow with the addition of my four beautiful children. Having four children six and under certainly keeps us busy and we love every moment we get to spend together as a family.
In 2021 I was proud to be announced as Partner of the business.
Over the past four years, Strategem has seen a lot of change from a culture perspective. It’s been an eye opener to further step into the digital world and embrace technology, allowing for the introduction of working from home practices.
Working through a global pandemic was also an opportunity to question ways of working and emphasised the importance of family and flexibility. Not only from our own personal perspectives, but from a client perspective as well. The restrictions in place during the pandemic created forced action within our business, forcing us to look at ways of working from different angles.
For me, personally, I consider myself passionate about technology. I enjoy staying up to date with technology trends and am passionate about creating efficient ways of working. Hence I was a big supporter of implementing working from home procedures and structures for all of our staff. I also acknowledge that we needed to adapt to fit into our clients schedules also. As many of us are time poor, we need to create ways that allow for our clients to easily and efficiently access our services.
Being equipped with the technology to work from home has allowed me to be more present in my family's life.
I have had the benefit of being able to enjoy all of the special moments with my family and support my wife, while still providing a high level of service to my clients and being a leader within the business.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have been made available to me throughout my career at Strategem.
